چکیده

Argali (Ovis ammon), the largest species among all wild sheep, is native to mountainous regions of Central and East Asia, spreading mainly throughout such countries as Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Mongolia, Russia China. Intraspecific taxonomy argali remains unclear, currently, most researchers recognize up nine subspecies. The aim our work was investigate phylogenetic relationship between populations O. ammon based on genome-wide SNP analysis. Five subspecies, Altai (O. a. ammon) (n = 6), Gobi darwini) 5), Pamir polii) 12), Tian Shan (O.a. karelini) 15) Kyzylkum severtzovi) 4), were genotyped using Illumina OvineHD BeadChip. In addition, complete mitogenome sequences from 30 those samples obtained. After quality control procedures, 65,158 SNPs selected for subsequent analyses. Neighbor-Net dendrogram principal component analysis (PCA) revealed that five subspecies could be grouped into four clusters. It shown a population formed cluster with highest pairwise FST genetic distance severtzovi (0.421) lowest polii O.a. karelini (0.083) darwini (0.040) Genetic diversity higher in Asian compared populations. had an admixed origin consisted two components—73.5 ± 0.2% polli 26.5 urial vignei). TreeMix migration event argali. mitogenomes supported results whole-genome genotyping. Considering mtDNA belonged not vignei, we concluded gene flow this group associated males. As only first intraspecific genotyping mitogenomes, suggest more studies are needed clarify status

Draft genome of the Marco Polo Sheep (Ovis ammon polii)

Background The Marco Polo Sheep (Ovis ammon polii), a subspecies of argali (Ovis ammon) that is distributed mainly in the Pamir Mountains, provides a mammalian model to study high altitude adaptation mechanisms. Due to over-hunting and subsistence poaching, as well as competition with livestock and habitat loss, O. ammon has been categorized as an endangered species on several lists. It can hav...

Insights into the genetic history of Green-legged Partridgelike fowl: mtDNA and genome-wide SNP analysis

The Green-legged Partridgelike (GP) fowl, an old native Polish breed, is characterised by reseda green-coloured shanks rather than yellow, white, slate or black commonly observed across most domestic breeds of chicken. Here, we investigate the origin, genetic relationships and structure of the GP fowl using mtDNA D-loop sequencing and genome-wide SNP analysis. Genome-wide association analysis b...
